Research Summary

This study analyzes railway-station-led regeneration around St. Pancras Station, King’s Cross Station, and the King’s Cross Central district between them. Once characterized by long-term decline, the area gained regeneration momentum from St. Pancras’s role as London’s gateway to European high-speed rail and King’s Cross’s function as a national railway hub.

The project extended beyond the physical modernization of station buildings by integrating surface and underground railways with local transport and improving pedestrian transfer routes. Facilities were also planned to support public access and diverse urban activities, allowing the potential of railway infrastructure to stimulate the spatial and social regeneration of the surrounding district.
