Research Summary
This study applies Space Syntax-based spatial network analysis and field surveys to Seoul’s Express Bus Terminal Station to identify mobility constraints experienced by transport-disadvantaged passengers. Line 3 showed high connectivity and integration but suffered from congestion. Line 7 had low spatial integration, long vertical travel distances, and insufficient elevators. Line 9 provided efficient transfer routes but lacked adequate connectivity to major facilities.
The study proposes improving transfer routes, expanding vertical circulation facilities, installing dedicated waiting areas for transport-disadvantaged passengers, and making mobility-rights assessments mandatory during the early design stage.
